Taylor Guitars are the sweetest sounding instruments. They bring a song to life with every tone. I own and play both a Taylor 410CE and a Taylor 814CE.  The tone lingers in the air for  moments after the string is stricken.

Hi, my name is Joe and I'm a songwriter.  I've been writing songs for a long time and I thought it was time to share my songs with the world.  I hope you enjoy them.

To me, songwriting is a very personal experience. The result of the lyrics on the written page or the sound of the music lilting through the air express a much deeper reflection of an internal, emotional experience, a mirror of the soul's cry for relationship. We write songs to communicate to others those feelings we otherwise reserve to ourselves. A songwriter's vulnerability is the strength of that work.

A song can reach down to your heart and make you laugh or cry, urge you to take action or cause you to reflect. A song draws upon the essence of who you are with every one of your life experiences a catalyst for creativity.

A completed song is the final record of some encounter in your life that had an impact, no matter how insignificant.

A song is the voice of your soul crying out to others to share a special moment with you.

Here are songs I have written.  Hope you enjoy them. These are unmixed, studio rough cuts with just acoustic guitar and vocal. Please take the time to sign my Guestbook and leave a message about your favorite song. I would really like to hear from you.

Biography:  When you think about writing your own biography, it is a daunting task.  Sometimes a harmonious collection of wonderful experiences; sometimes a cacophony of encounters one would rather have avoided. But always a journey, which along the way becomes the sum total of sights, sounds and most importantly relationships, which build the substance of who we each become.

When thinking about myself and who I am, I can no better reveal myself than through the songs I have written.

At the core of these songs and my own identity is relationship, the greatest and longest lasting of which is the one I have shared with my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, His Father and The Holy Spirit, as displayed in the song, "Holy Trinity." The lyrics of each song reveal some impact on my life by someone or some experience that left me forever changed. These are indelible imprints on my soul, just like a permanent imprint upon a fossilzed rock created so long ago.

While people have come and gone throughout my life, the music has always been there.  I have been writing songs since I was 15 years old. This experience began first by writing poetry, then, after teaching myself guitar, I applied my poetry to music and became a songwriter for the rest of my life.

Years ago I wondered for whom these songs were written.  A friend once told me that some songs are simply written for ourselves and other songs may be written for others, but neither diminishes the importance of the messages in these songs, regardless of the ultimate audience.

My hope is that one or more of these songs was written for you.
